Join us at Traces of Time at SOTA, a celebration of how children’s ideas, memories and discoveries unfold over time. For the first time, Bucket House Preschool’s Woodlands and Sims Avenue communities come together to share the traces of their learning journeys in the Year 2026.

About the event
Traces of Time invites us to pause and notice how children’s learning takes shape over days, weeks and months. Through their explorations, children encounter change, carry memories and discover new ways to express their understanding of the world. Each gesture, conversation and creation holds a trace of their thinking, revealing how learning grows through everyday experiences and relationships.
This exhibition reveals the capabilities of young children when adults are willing to learn and discover alongside them. When we listen closely, wonder together and remain open to children’s ideas, learning can reach beyond what we initially imagined. When adults determine every question, direction and answer, we risk limiting these possibilities to what we already know.
Through children’s work and documentation, we bring these shared journeys into view. We invite visitors to look closely at moments of curiosity, experimentation and discovery, and to appreciate the time, space and trust children need for their ideas to unfold.
Held at SOTA, this year’s exhibition marks a meaningful first as our Sims Avenue branch joins Woodlands in a shared showcase. Each community brings its own stories, connected by our belief in children as capable, curious thinkers. We welcome families, educators and the wider community to discover Traces of Time, and the meaning held within the moments of children’s lives.

Student Discount: Tertiary, undergraduate, and postgraduate students are eligible for a 20% discount on tickets with a valid student ID. You will be required to present your Student ID during admission. Discounted rates are reflected in the prices displayed.
